Comcast SportsNet Northwest Launches in Seattle Area

Comcast Corporation has announced that the leading cable operator in the country has launched its regional sports networks ‘Comcast SportsNet Northwest‘ in Seattle region. Comcast SportsNet Northwest launched on November 1, 2007, covers the regions Oregon, Washington and professional sports coverage includes The Portland Trail Blazers and Oregon Ducks and also covers other Northwest sports including college and high school sports. The sports network will present Seattle region fans with 55 Portland Trail Blazers NBA games and 60 NHL games featuring the Vancouver Canucks or the San Jose Sharks.

“Now that we don’t have a Seattle-area NBA team, we are excited to bring the Trail Blazers to our Washington customers,” said Tom Pierce, vice president of sales and marketing for Comcast. “If you want local sports, we’ve got more than any other provider. In addition to Comcast SportsNet Northwest, we also offer hundreds of hours of local On Demand sports programming which includes dozens of high school sports games; boxing; semi-pro beach volleyball; UW volleyball; Everett Silvertips; Seattle Sounders soccer; Seahawks All-Access show; Holmgren Q&A and the Husky Honks show.”
