After the successful launch of satellite DIRECTV 11, DirecTV has started adding new high-definition channels and also local HD programming in many markets. Now DirecTV has added local HD broadcast to subscribers in Toledo, Ohio market. The satcaster has added following networks in high-definition:
WTVG/ABC
WTOL/CBS
WUPW/FOX and
WNWO/NBC
DirecTV is now offering local HD broadcast channels in 91 cities, representing 81 percent of U.S. TV households. The leading satellite provider with 130 HD
channels in its programming line-up is expanding its HD programming and launching many new national and local HD channels and the satcaster is planning to deliver
30 more HD local channel markets by the end of 2008.
