DirecTV Local HD Programming Available In 100 Markets

DirecTV has launched local HD programming to customers in 100 markets with the help of new satellite DIRECTV 11. Starting August, DirecTV started delivering local HD channels in many markets and now with the launch of local HD programming in the Columbia-Jefferson City, Mo., and Evansville, Ind markets. With the launch in these two markets, DirecTV now offers to local HD broadcast channels to more than 83 percent of U.S. TV households. DirecTV announced that the satcaster will end up the year with HD broadcast in more than 121 cities, representing approximately 88 percent of U.S. TV households.

DirecTV has disappointed their subscribers as they have not added any new HD channels for some time and delivering only local HD channels in many markets. Customers expected many new HD channels from DirecTV like AMC HD, Fox News HD The Travel Channel HD and WGN HD. Now, DirecTV has reached 100 local HD and what next? Its time to deliver many new HD channels, which other operators are delivering.
