After Congress mandated the conversion to all-digital television broadcasting before February 17, 2009, satellite television providers and Cable operators are gearing up in helping consumers in digital transition. Now DISH Network has announced two more affordable solutions for consumers affected by the upcoming digital transition. Following are the two options suggested by the country’s third largest
pay-TV provider:
DISH Network has announced that digital-to-analog converter box, TR-40 CRA, an entry level is launched for sale with the providers’ retailers and consumers may also join DISH Network’s recently-introduced American or Latino Welcome Packs. The analog converter box adds to DISH Network’s programming lineup of digital-to-analog converter boxes and also has unique analog pass-through feature, an easy-to-follow setup wizard, an electronic program guide with up to seven days of program listings, parental controls, program search, auto tune timers for program recording on a connected VCR, closed caption support, a remote control and signal strength screen pop-ups that can troubleshoot lost signals.
Another option for the consumers to get ready with the digital transition is to subscribe to pay television. The satcaster offers many programming packages that suits the consumers budget as they have various options like DISH Network American and Latino Welcome Packs, DishFAMILY package and DISH Network’s new TurboHD programming packages.
“We made a commitment to sell a $40 coupon-eligible converter box — making it free when a government coupon is applied — and are delivering on that commitment with our entry-level TR-40 CRA,” said Tom Stingley, executive vice president of Sales and Distribution for DISH Network. “Our digital-to-analog converter boxes, along with the $9.99 programming package solutions, are additional ways DISH Network is making high quality TV more accessible to consumers nationwide.”
