USA TODAY Launches Three New Online Communities

USA TODAY has announced the launch of three new online communities to expand its niche-topic, moderated community Web sites. The members will be able to utilize all the newest social networking functions available on USATODAY.com and participants will be able to comment on posts, message the authors directly, message other members privately and create their own blogs. Following are the online communities launched:

Fantasy Joe can be found at fantasyjoe.usatoday.com

Campus Rivalry at campusrivalry.usatoday.com and

Paw Print Post at pets.usatoday.com

Fantasy Joe launched on Tuesday, August 18 will cater to die-hard fantasy football fans. Moderated by Matt Pitzer and Pete O’Brien, Fantasy Joe will help readers dominate their fantasy football league. Once the season starts the website will guide community member to the best matchups, waiver pickups and provide ample opportunities to ask questions about team’s specific needs. Along the way the community will have fun exchanging war stories, taking in some primetime games together and getting access to USA TODAY exclusive fantasy football games.

Campus Rivalry launched on Tuesday, August 18 is a college football community curated by Erick Smith. Campus Rivalry will track the race for the national championship and Heisman Trophy while also covering the storylines and rivalries that define college football. Campus Rivalry will tackle statistics, injury reports, hirings, firings, success stories with frequent contributions from other USA TODAY reporters and editors like Kelly Whiteside, Steve Wieberg and Jack Carey.

Paw Print Post launched on Thursday, August 13 moderated by Janice Lloyd will feature regular content from columnist Sharon Peters and columnist Dr. Patty Khuly of Dolittler.com. The community will also offer members a chance to share stories, photos and observations: from the cutest pet pictures to stories about celebrities’ pets to the latest news, including diet, veterinary medicine and rescues. In our forums pet lovers can connect with one another, responding to questions or offering advice to others. Paw Print Post will also include a Petfinder.com search widget for dog and cat adoptions.
