The first channel dedicated to covering every aspect of the angling and sport fishing industry World Fishing Network (WFN), owned by Insight Sports Ltd. has announced that the channel is launched in high-definition to Verizon FiOS TV customers on channel 597 in the New York City Metro market areas. The programming includes parts of the five boroughs, Long Island, the suburbs just north of the city, and northern New Jersey. World Fishing Network HD delivers programming that includes American and Canadian angling, saltwater and freshwater fishing, professional competitions, expert advice, international tournaments, travel destinations and conservation.
“There are more than 50 million sport fishing enthusiasts in North America looking for a dedicated television network devoted exclusively to angling and related lifestyle programming in high-definition,” said Mark Rubinstein, President of WFN. “By partnering with Verizon FiOS TV, we are answering the call from the legions of fishing enthusiasts in the New York City Metro area who have been very vocal about wanting programming that serves their interests.”
