Verizon FiOS TV has launched 76 new channels in Philadelphia region on Sept. 22, which also includes 56 new high-definition channels. FiOS TV subscribers in Philadelphia, which also includes parts of southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware have more than 580 high-definition choices. Subscribers in these areas have 86 HD channels and also more than 500 HD video-on-demand (VOD) titles every month. Verizon also claims that they offer more high-definition channels than Comcast and RCN. Verizon is also offering for subscribers who sign up for FiOS TV between now and Oct. 4, one year free use of HD DVR or an HD Home Media DVR.
“FiOS TV is the only service to consider if you want the ultimate HD experience,” said Beth Mulhern, Verizon’s director of consumer regional marketing in Pennsylvania and Delaware. “With our increased number of HD channels, along with HD video-on-demand programming and our current HD DVR and premium movie promotion, we’re blowing cable away.

Apart from these HD channels, Verizon FiOS TV’s subscribers will get 11 HD channels from Cinemax and 13 HD channels from HBO and also 13 new HD channels from The Movie Channel, Starz and Showtime, including The Movie Channel Xtra, Starz Edge, Starz Comedy, Starz Kids and Family, Showtime,
Showtime Showcase, Showtime Extreme and Showtime 2.
